The Sparkle Band perform at a luxury wedding in the Azores

What can we say other than Samantha and Kyle, you rocked the island of Terceira in the Azores and made our live band feel so welcome at your incredible wedding day and we are hugely grateful for the opportunity you gave us to give you all a night you will never forget.

So let us now tell everyone just how special a wedding can be in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on a beautiful island in the Azores.

As a destination wedding band we rarely see rain but the days leading up to and on the day of the wedding the rain was on a biblical scale. This mid tropical island definitely lived up to the words tropical.

All weather forecasts predicted it was 100 percent going to rain all day and all night, not ideal but Samantha and Kyle rolled with the punches and were determined not to let the weather dampen their spirits.

However amazingly exactly ten minutes before the ceremony was about to begin the clouds mysteriously parted. A ray of sunshine then started to break through and continued to grow until blue skies surrounded the island of Terceira Lajes.

It was at this point as a wedding band we knew things were about to change. Subconsciously the entire wedding party started to alter their outlook. This day was no longer shadowed by clouds it was now surrounded by sunshine and light, the energy on this Azores island lifted instantly and all because of that big yellow ball in the sky!

The strings trio playing various entrance songs lit up just as brightly as the sun with the entrance of the bride. Samantha made her way down the aisle to the beautiful Taylor Swift song "Wildest Dreams".

A six course dinner followed and by now we were all inside the main marquee.

We put on a nice mixture of lively but easy listening tunes with our six piece wedding band. We had songs from Etta James, Otis Reading, Ed Sheeran and Adele to name a few.

Towards the end of the meal we decided to ramp it up a little with our own version of "Stand By Me", by which time the entire room was on its feet, slow dancing and singing along.

We capped off the meal with our rendition of the famous, "Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You", which got the party started with everyone singing at the top of their voices. This is such a great way to lift the energy after a long meal and get people into the spirit of celebrating.

Unlike most wedding bands we offer a full day service where we MC the entire day, from introducing the bridal party into the room to making sure for the speeches each person given that daunting task is made to feel at ease by the way we introduce them. By making the crowd laugh and using light humour and fun banter with the speakers it puts everyone in a nice state ready to make or listen to each speech.

Now for the fun bit. We had a real party in the Azores. As the thunder clapped and roared around the island throughout the night, it was completely drowned out by epic guitar solos, big brass sounds and our insanely talented drummer Callum with his foot to the floor approach giving a real solid beat to shake that butt to.

We had as much fun as the guests, as always we were in the thick of it all jumping around on stage, performing solos on the dance floor and putting on a real show.

We never stand still on stage and just “perform”, admittedly, there is no shortage of wedding bands to choose from, but we think you will have to look long and hard to find a band that brings as much energy and is as good as The Sparkle Band.

When creating this bespoke wedding band, we wanted it to be in a league of its own. It had to be the “must have band” for luxury weddings, so we knew we had to create something truly exceptional.

As well as an incredible live sound, we wanted a wedding band that is visually stunning.
